The EMO exhibition (Milan, Oct 5-10) marked the kick-off of the announcement that Kennametal Inc. has migrated its current brands of metalcutting tools and tooling systems into two portfolios:
• WIDIA Products Group
• Kennametal Products Group
Each portfolio will be taken to market separately. The WIDIA Products Group brands will be positioned primarily as a distributor brand, while Kennametal is
positioned primarily as a direct brand that also is sold through selected value-added resellers.
The WIDIA Products Group will include the WIDIA™, WIDIA-Hanita™, WIDIA-Rübig™, WIDIA-Manchester™, WIDIA-ClappDiCo™, WIDIA-GTD™, and WIDIA-Circle™ brands; while the KM™ and Erickson™ brand tooling systems will be available in both the Kennametal Products Group and the WIDIA Products Group.
With the announcement of the creation of the WIDIA Products Group and the new WIDIA Victory™ series of milling, turning, and holemaking products, a new advertising campaign is being launched in the world’s preeminent metalcutting trade magazines.
