Silver Satin Communication

To build on manufacturing efficiencies and get products in your hands faster, we’re standardizing surface treatment across various tooling categories. Moving forward, all steel products including tooling systems, indexable milling, holemaking and turning will be treated in silver satin rather than black oxide. While this change brings consistency in appearance to most of the WIDIA portfolio, there are select items that will remain in black oxide.

No change in the machining performance should be expected from this change. Our global team, from engineering to manufacturing to sales, remains committed to upholding the WIDIA standard of quality and excellence in metal cutting.

If you have questions about specific products you order from us and whether these items will be available in silver or black moving forward, or just have general questions about this rolling global change, contact your local sales representative.
